Abe R. Rant's Guide To Petrifying Podcasts On Roku - Day 25: Horror Series Beginning With The Letter 'Y' !!

Greetings, Boils & Ghouls...

... and welcome to 'Day Twenty-Five' of "Abe R. Rant's Guide To Petrifying Podcasts on Roku" where I aim to bring you another batch of Hallowe'en / Horror-related audio series from the plethora of petrifying podcasts that have been released in recent years - any of which can be streamed to your TV via the magic of Roku media players - so, let's dim those lights... for some more audio frights! :-O

If you read my special hallowe'en blogathon preview - FOUND HERE - that I published twenty-five days ago, then you'll know I plan to post one Hallowe'en / Horror related article each day, throughout the month of October, featuring an assortment of links to various podcasts beginning with the same letter of the alphabet every day of the month. For the sake of simplicity, I decided to begin this series of blog posts with the letter 'A' on 'Day One', followed by letter 'B' on 'Day Two', letter 'C' on 'Day Three', and so on and so forth, right the way through to letter 'Z' on 'Day Twenty-Six'. Obviously that will still leave five more days worth of posts, by the time we reach the end of the alphabet, so I'll put my thinking cap on (between now & then) to (hopefully) come up with some extra audio "treats" for you by then. With thirty-one posts of the most spook-tacular sounding series I can find, between now and the end of the month, you'll have lots of great choice for your listening pleasure as we count the days to Hallowe'en, as well as plenty of spine-tingling thrills & chills 'twixt now and October 31st! :-D

For my twenty-fifth post in this series I'm going to share the link to just one audio "treat" because, well, some letters of the (horror) alphabet just have fewer options than others... to put it simply, but (once again) it will be from the general spectrum of horror and the paranormal, with the "trick" (sic) being that the title for this podcast series will begin with the letter 'Y' - and, instead of having to claim "artistic licence" over the use of the definite article "The", as I've needed to do with some of the podcast titles in many of my previous posts from this month-long blogathon... there's no need to worry about that for the purposes of today's post! :-D Anyway, with that minor caveat now clarified, here is my latest suggestion for yet another Hallowe'en / Horror-related podcast series... the title for which begins with the letter 'Y' of the (horror) alphabet:-

You Must Remember This: is a storytelling podcast exploring the secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood’s first century. It’s the brainchild and passion project of Karina Longworth (founder of Cinematical.com, and former film critic for LA Weekly), who writes, narrates, records and edits each episode. It is a heavily-researched work of creative nonfiction: navigating through conflicting reports, mythology, and institutionalised spin, Karina tries to sort out what really happened behind the films, stars and scandals of the 20th century. So, if you're looking for a podcast that mixes 'Old Hollywood' with tales of death, then Karina Longworth's podcast series is chock-a-block full of episodes which explore the more twisted side of Hollywood - a subject about which the host is clearly knowledgeable - and although some die-hard horror fans might wish it was a bit darker, or a little more gruesome in it's detail, there's no denying that these tales of a bygone Hollywood are well-researched. For those who'd like further streaming options, aside from the various podcast hosts listed below, you can also listen to all of the episodes online via their official website, as well as through this 'YouTube' playlist. Accept it for what it is and, if you enjoy a mix of 'Old Hollywood' with a dash of murder and scandal on the side, this won't disappoint... her other series 'You Must Remember Manson' is also good! ;-) :-)

Anyhow, that's all there is for today... but do remember to come back again tomorrow, for my next batch of petrifying podcast recommendations, when I will provide some more links to further audio "treats", only next time they'll be titles that begin with the letter 'Z' of the (horror) alphabet, for 'Day Twenty-Six' of "Abe R. Rant's Guide To Petrifying Podcasts on Roku". Once again you'll be able to listen through one of the various channels on your Roku streaming media player(s) which were outlined in my 'Special Hallowe'en Blogathon Preview' post, that was published on the last day of September. Meanwhile... please be sure to visit the "Countdown To Hallowe'en" website and show your support for this annual online Hallowe'en extravaganza PLUS don't forget to use the links you find there and check out all the other 'Cryptkeepers' taking part this year. I know they'll appreciate it, if you visit their blogs and share your thoughts on the contribution(s) they've made! ;-) :-D

ONE LAST THING, BEFORE I GO: Don't forget that, aside from the Hallowe'en / Horror-themed ghastliness going on around these parts for the next month, you can also keep up with the UK Roku action (as it happens) by checking-out my regular 'Weekly RoundUp' posts each weekend where you will find up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related is posted on a weekly basis (well, almost).

Until the next time, then...

That's all folks !!
