Greetings, Boils & Ghouls...
... and welcome to 'Day Twenty-Four' of "Abe R. Rant's Guide To Petrifying Podcasts on Roku" where I aim to bring you another batch of Hallowe'en / Horror-related audio series from the plethora of petrifying podcasts that have been released in recent years - any of which can be streamed to your TV via the magic of Roku media players - so, let's dim those lights... for some more audio frights! :-O
If you read my special hallowe'en blogathon preview - FOUND HERE - that I published twenty-four days ago, then you'll know I plan to post one Hallowe'en / Horror related article each day, throughout the month of October, featuring an assortment of links to various podcasts beginning with the same letter of the alphabet every day of the month. For the sake of simplicity, I decided to begin this series of blog posts with the letter 'A' on 'Day One', followed by letter 'B' on 'Day Two', letter 'C' on 'Day Three', and so on and so forth, right the way through to letter 'Z' on 'Day Twenty-Six'. Obviously that will still leave five more days worth of posts, by the time we reach the end of the alphabet, so I'll put my thinking cap on (between now & then) to (hopefully) come up with some extra audio "treats" for you by then. With thirty-one posts of the most spook-tacular sounding series I can find, between now and the end of the month, you'll have lots of great choice for your listening pleasure as we count the days to Hallowe'en, as well as plenty of spine-tingling thrills & chills 'twixt now and October 31st! :-D
For my twenty-fourth post in this series I'm going to share links for a much smaller amount of audio "treats" than there were yesterday, but (again) they'll all be from the general spectrum of horror and the paranormal, with the unifying "trick" (sic) being that the title for each of these podcast series will begin with the letter 'X' - and (once more) artistic licence has been taken to ignore "The", when used at the start of the title, to avoid having too many podcasts beginning with letter 'T' on 'Day Twenty' of this month-long blogathon. So, without further ado, here are my suggestions for Hallowe'en / Horror-related podcast series... the titles for which all begin with the letter 'X' of the (horror) alphabet:-
X Minus One Podcast: is a podcast series, presented by Dennis Humphrey of Humphrey Camardella Productions, and is based upon the radio drama broadcast from 1955 to 1958 through 'NBC'. The original 'X Minus One' is considered as one of the finest offerings of American radio drama. The first 15 episodes were new versions of 'Dimension X' episodes, but the remainder were adaptations of science fiction stories by leading writers, including: Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl and Theodore Sturgeon, along with a few original scripts. For baby boomer's that liked 'The Outer Limits' and 'The Twilight Zone', as well as for all you 'Trekkies' out there, 'X Minus One' is the forefather of the science fiction you grew up with. Re-released in podcast form (just as you see it now) beginning on 22nd June, 2007. You will find it is still some of the best Science Fiction ever aired. Regardless of your age, give it a listen and explore science fiction with the imagination of your mind… if nothing else, you'll get to enjoy some great story telling! ;-) :-D

The X-Cast - An X-Files Podcast: is a weekly series, from the 'We Made This Podcast Network', that is hosted by writer, author, and podcaster A. J. 'Tony' Black - along with a collection of 'X-Files' fans. Devoted "X-Phile", Tony, and his group of equally committed "Philes", go delving into each episode of "The X-Files", exploring supplemental topics, conducting interviews with cast and crew, as well as holding other special events. In addition to the podcast series, they publish a blog which also happens to be dedicated to the '20th Century Fox' television series (of which the first episode aired in 1993), that produced a total of 209 episodes plus two motion pictures! :-O If you pay a visit to their blog, via the "official website" link below, you will see it includes every main episode of the podcast, alongside it's reeler posts, and even has an online community devoted to 'The X-Files' and all associated media. Started by Tony in 2015, 'The X-Cast' brings you regular episodes discussing in-depth every episode of the series, featuring interviews with people associated with the show plus it's surrounding universe, and everything in between. You are encouraged to contact them, either via the blog or through social media, with feedback, conversation topics, or other ideas... but, always remember - TrustNo1 ;-) :-D

The X-Files Podcast: is a podcast series, produced by Dean L. Martin and LSG Media, that is hosted by Dean and Josh. They are obnoxious, they are absurd, they are irreverent, and they are - at times - shockingly insightful. If you are looking for something different in the 'TV & Film' podcasting genre, something honest and with zero interest in pandering, then turn your ears to 'The X-Files Podcast' by LSG (Liberty Street Geek) Media. Subscribe... and never miss a week of their profane ramblings! :-O
DISCLAIMER: 'The X-Files Podcast' is a commentary and criticism show that will routinely slander, suggest, and make wild claims - it should be considered "comedy entertainment only", and (therefore) not be taken too seriously. Assume responsibility for your own actions & feelings if you listen! ;-) :-D

The XX Files Podcast - I Want To Believe: is, for lack of a better description, an 'X-Files' recap series produced by Alison Ross and Courtney Shrumm. The main difference between this and (most) other podcasts "out there" (please excuse the pun!) which are about "The X-Files" television series, is that 'The XX Files Podcast' (if you'll permit me to use a shortened form of the full title shown above) has "two queer inter-sectional feminists" as presenters who, from their viewpoint, seem to really dis-like "The X-Files" and that, in turn, makes for an interesting listen as they re-watch / recap the entire nine seasons of this cult TV classic. Despite their (often justifiable) protests, even they want to believe! ;-)

Anyhow, that's all there is for today... but do remember to come back again tomorrow, for my next batch of petrifying podcast recommendations, when I will provide some more links to further audio "treats", only next time they'll be titles that begin with the letter 'Y' of the (horror) alphabet, for 'Day Twenty-Five' of "Abe R. Rant's Guide To Petrifying Podcasts on Roku". Once again you'll be able to listen through one of the various channels on your Roku streaming media player(s) which were outlined in my 'Special Hallowe'en Blogathon Preview' post, that was published on the last day of September. Meanwhile... please be sure to visit the "Countdown To Hallowe'en" website and show your support for this annual online Hallowe'en extravaganza PLUS don't forget to use the links you find there and check out all the other 'Cryptkeepers' taking part this year. I know they'll appreciate it, if you visit their blogs and share your thoughts on the contribution(s) they've made! ;-) :-D
ONE LAST THING, BEFORE I GO: Don't forget that, aside from the Hallowe'en / Horror-themed ghastliness going on around these parts for the next month, you can also keep up with the UK Roku action (as it happens) by checking-out my regular 'Weekly RoundUp' posts each weekend where you will find up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related is posted on a weekly basis (well, almost).
Until the next time, then...
That's all folks !!
