Welcome, Boils & Ghouls !!
We now have just 27 days remaining in the Countdown To Hallowe'en 2013 which can only mean that we have reached day four of "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku" in my month-long blogathon which culminates on 31st October 2013. In case you missed the first few instalments, this series of posts began with details of a Hallowe'en ScreamSaver, complete with a spooky soundtrack, followed by details of a Roku channel dedicated to Vintage Horror Classics (feat. Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, etc) and then some Hallowe'en "How-To" videos covering issues from costumes & make-up, to props, recipes & more. Today we continue with something for fans of the paranormal and a channel whose content features the likes of ghosts, UFO's, Bigfoot & much more besides !!
As you might expect, this rather specialised Roku channel can be found in the "Special Interest" genre (i.e. category) of the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. Generally speaking, 'Jim Harold's Paranormal Radio' channel provides content covering various aspects of the paranormal. For example, first there's "Jim Harold's Campfire" with it's chilling stories of everyday people and the paranormal. Next there's the more light-hearted side featuring the wacky news stories of the week, presented by Kate Botello on her "Weird News Radio" show. Plus, of course, you get "The Paranormal Report" for the very best on the paranormal, including subject matter such as ghosts, UFO's & Bigfoot (as mentioned above). This varied content will ensure that you have plenty of ways to pass the time between my daily doses of Roku-related Hallowe'en horror in "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku" while, at the same time, making you more aware of what could be "out there" on Hallowe'en... yikes !!
Previously, around this time of year, there has been a SPECIAL HALLOWE'EN OFFER from the good folks at 'Jim Harold's Paranormal Radio' to GET A FREE SPOOKY KINDLE BOOK when you sign-up for the "Yearly Plus Club Membership" so, if you add this channel, be sure to keep an eye out for any similar offers this time around. To discover more about the host (yes, that is "host" and NOT "ghost", by the way) you can visit the Paranormal Podcast Network VIA THIS LINK and explore Jim's Official Website to your heart's content. You can also connect with Jim Harold via his Twitter Feed: @ParanormalPdcst or else, get social through: Jim Harold (Facebook).
According to the channel description for the 'Jim Harold's Paranormal Radio' channel taken from the Official Roku Website, the channel was developed for Roku by Lavish Fiction Software. If that sounds familiar to you, it could be because they are also responsible for developing both the 'Cinematio' and 'Pride Player' channels on Roku player. Should you need to contact the developer, you can do so via their Twitter Feed: @appsformobiles or just get social through: Lavish Fiction Software (Facebook). Of course, you can always find out more about 'Jim Harold's Paranormal Radio' on Roku by viewing the description posted VIA THIS LINK to the dedicated channel page on the Lavish Fiction website.
For those of you who'd like to add this channel to the Hallowe'en-themed entertainment on your Roku player(s) but are, perhaps, unable to access the Channel Store on your device at this precise moment... you can also take care of things by simply LOGGING-IN to your Online Roku Account, scrolling down to the 'Manage Account' section, and using the "Add a Private Channel" option. That way, when you do have access to your Roku player, 'Jim Harold's Paranormal Radio' channel will be there ready for you to watch whenever you choose !! All you must do to achieve this, is type the following access code into the data entry field under "Add a Private Channel" and click the blue 'Add Channel' button:-
ACCESS CODE:- paranormalradio
Anyway, that's pretty much all there is to it, except to point out that 'Jim Harold's Paranormal Radio' channel has been given an average score of "4.0 out of 5" from 114 ratings (so far) in the channel store description on the Official Roku Website. That alone should be reason enough to give it a try !!
Having said that, if this particular Hallowe'en / Horror themed Roku channel was not to your liking then FEAR NOT because there will be another one featured in tomorrow's post, continuing the month-long blogathon that is: "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku"which will bring you more devilish delights EACH AND EVERY DAY from now UNTIL HALLOWE'EN and when you're done with this blog, don't forget to visit the other contributors to the 2013 Countdown To Hallowe'en and see what Hallowe'en treats they have in store for you between now and 31st October !!
Fangs again, for stopping by !!
