Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #76

Hi, everyone !!

You would think, with a bank holiday weekend added to the equation, that I'd finally have plenty of time to catch-up with the missing bits of Roku-related news (that I was previously unable to publish due to time constraints following my "Summer Staycation") however, whilst I can't exactly blame it on a deluge of channels (as was the case last week) I'm sorry to say that I'm still behind with my blogging duties. Not only have I not had a chance to flesh out the last three 'Weekly RoundUp' articles, but I've also fallen short with compiling all of the additional news & information for the current week. This situation is unlikely to change over the next few days, either, as we have visitors coming over the bank holiday and I won't be able to work on the blog until (at least) the middle of the week (possibly later) !!

So... as with my previous few posts, "Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #73" plus "Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #74" and "Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #75", all I can offer you for now is a brief summary of the latest channel additions to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store from the past seven days. Again, you can expect all of the Roku-related news from the past week, along with details of any changes to the channel selection found on NowTV Boxes, to be added over the coming week. Meanwhile, there's a feast of new food channels among the selection of channels added this week and, if you happen to belong to the U.S. diaspora now living in the UK or simply have an interest in current affairs stateside, you might want to catch up on some local news from across the pond. Aside from that, there's a few channels for keeping the kids & the rest of the family entertained over what's left of the summer holidays PLUS a couple of travel related channels for planning your next vacation. All being well, I aim to get everything updated so that we're back on track by next weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you in the meantime.

Anyway, with all of the Roku-related news from the past seven days still to follow, let's now press on with details for the current 'Weekly RoundUp' of NEW ADDITIONS to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. This time, there are FOURTEEN NEW CHANNELS which have been added during the past seven days with the ADDED BONUS that (once again) they are ALL FREE although, for some bizarre reason, they all carry the disclaimer that the channel(s) "May require additional fees"?! It's not yet clear whether this has been done "just in case" of any future paid content, or if it's going to be a standard quote for every channel description, but (for now) the content appears to be free-to-view. Needless to say, if I hear any more on the subject, I'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, these latest additions to the channel line-up have provided us with FRESH CONTENT in the Film & TV, News, Weather, Sport, Music, Internet TV, Food, plus Special Interest genres (i.e. categories).

In keeping with previous installments from the 'Weekly RoundUp' series, details of these new channels have all been listed below, together with links to obtain further information {by clicking on the channel name(s) beneath the respective channel icon(s) as pictured} and to read a 'Roku Guide' review (where available) with an independent (slightly more expansive) assessment of each one:-

Anyhow, like it or not, that is your lot for this week and, whilst it doesn't quite the match-up to the sixteen channels which made it into the "Official" Roku USA Channel Store during the same time-frame, I always think it's better to have SOME NEW CHOICES than none at all, don't you ?!!

Still, hopefully everyone in the UK with a Roku player managed to find something they like within the fourteen channels outlined above. If not, then you'll just have to pay us a visit another time when, with any luck, there will be something more to your liking. Afterall, there's no point installing every channel because, as I've said before, when it comes to adding new channels to your Roku player, IT'S YOUR CHOICE and, as with all things Roku... THE CHOICE IS ALWAYS YOURS !!

*********************************************

As mentioned earlier in this post, you can expect my usual summary of all the goings-on (or not) in the (severely restricted) Roku Channel Store that features on NowTV Boxes to follow in the near future. Meanwhile, whether you happen to own a Roku player, a NowTV Box, OR BOTH, as I do... be sure to check my previous posts (see links above) for all the new additions to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store in the two preceding weeks and then come back again in seven days' time for my next 'Weekly RoundUp'. However, if you can't wait that long, remember you can always keep up with all the UK Roku action (as it happens) throughout the coming week, by following the companion Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels where up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related (here in the UK) is posted on a daily basis (well, almost).

Until the next time, then...

That's all folks !!
