A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku - Day #20 IF YOU LOVE HORROR, THE WEIRD & PARANORMAL, BE SURE TO... GET SCARED TV, THIS HALLOWE'EN !!

Welcome once again, Boils & Ghouls !!

There's now just 11 days remaining in the Countdown To Hallowe'en 2013, meaning that we have now reached day twenty of "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku", which is the name I've given to my (current) month-long blogathon, that culminates on 31st October 2013. In case you missed the previous instalments, this series of posts began with details of a Hallowe'en ScreamSaver, complete with it's own spooky soundtrack, followed by a Roku channel dedicated to Vintage Horror Classics, then some Hallowe'en "How-To" videos, a Roku channel for fans of the paranormal and then another for devotees of independent horror. After that came a channel dedicated to the open discussion of UFO's and UFO-related activities plus a further selection of Cult Films, Sci-Fi Classics & Vintage Horror. Since then, we've provided details of a Roku channel brimming with creepy cocktail suggestions, another with more classic Hallowe'en movie choices, and then details of a Roku channel that mixes paranormal reality tv shows with powerful documentaries, mysteries, conspiracy theories, UFO's and plenty else besides. The next two instalments saw yet more Horror, Sci-Fi & Fantasy movies on one channel plus some Hallowe'en / Horror-themed music, courtesy of a Roku radio channel, on another. We then brought you details of a live-streaming horror channel, to add yet another dynamic to the Hallowe'en entertainment on your Roku players plus some close encounters of the third kind, courtesy of a Roku channel dedicated to the subject of aliens and UFO's. Add to that two more Roku channels bringing fresh selections of Sci-Fi & Horror Movies plus more "Halloween Horror" films, then another channel with a bunch of J-Horror, K-Horror and every other kind of Asian horror that you can imagine. Then throw in yet another helping of vintage horror movies, together with a whole host of Hallowe'en recipes to add to the macabre menu for your spooktacular soirée and you're pretty much bang up-to-date with what we've done so far !!

Meanwhile here we are with only eleven days to go until Hallowe'en and we've been wracking our brains for even more ways to bring horror subculture to the masses, by streaming it directly into their living rooms via the Roku player. So, mindful of that, we decided to make the indie underground horror scene the main focus for today's post, and bring you details of a Roku channel that is geared towards unearthing those hidden indie horror gems from all over the world. Suffice to say that, if you're a horror fan with a flair for the underground scene, then you'll definitely want to add this channel to your wonderfully wicked watchlist, as you settle in for some serious streaming, with the nights slowly drawing in throughout the remainder of this spooktacular Hallowe'en season !!

It probably comes as no surprise to you, that this Indie Horror & Paranormal-based Roku channel can be found in the "Special Interest" genre (i.e. category) of the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. Generally speaking, the 'GetScaredTV' channel provides an assortment of feature-length indie films, paranormal investigations, documentaries & more, featuring some of the greatest independent works from the minds of indie subculture, all of which can (currently) be watched completely free-of-charge. Having said that, I should (perhaps) point out that the channel description, both in the Roku Channel Store on the Roku player and from the Official Roku Website, do state that the "service may require additional fees" which would suggest that there may be some pay-per-view or other paid content via this channel at some point in the future. For the time being, however, I can confirm that EVERY VIDEO that's included within the sub-menus of the 'GetScaredTV' channel IS FREE-TO-WATCH. With the channel, itself, being FREE-TO-ADD to your Roku player, this means you can (currently) enjoy all of the content on the 'GetScaredTV' channel without incurring any additional expense by doing so (provided that you already own a Roku player, of course!).

So, now that you know you can WATCH the 'GetScaredTV' channel FOR FREE, I'm guessing you'd probably like to know exactly what's available for you to stream... well, the (current) selection to be found among the sub-menus of 'GetScaredTV' on Roku player is as follows:-

The Oddity Files

• Ferry Plantation - Eleven spirits are known to reside at Ferry Plantation House in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The house has a story and the resident spirits can't wait to tell it !!
• Blackmoon Manor - The Oddity Files investigates Blackmoon Manor, which was reportedly one of the most haunted locations in the State of Indianna before being demolished sometime just before the end of 2012.

That's because they have contacted indie film-makers and producers from all over the world to assemble this collection of horror shorts, animations, feature films, documentaries and episodic television shows. In fact, the folks at 'GetScaredTV' are so proud of their achievements, they feel sure that "if you're not a fan of the Indie Horror Scene, you will be shortly after watching GetScaredTV". Either way, this indie horror-themed content will ensure that you have plenty of ways to pass the time between my daily doses of Roku-related Hallowe'en horror in "A MummyVision Guide To Hallowe'en On Roku" while, at the same time, satisfying your appetite for even more underground indie horror in the build-up to Hallowe'en on October 31st !!

That way, when you do have access to your Roku player, the 'GetScaredTV' channel will be there ready for you to watch whenever you so choose !! Anyway, that's pretty much all there is to it, except to point out that the 'GetScaredTV' channel has been given an average score of "3.5 out of 5" from 106 ratings (so far) in the channel store description from the Official Roku Website. That statistic alone should be reason enough for you to give this channel a try, never mind the fact that ALL OF THE FILMS ARE FREE TO WATCH too !!
