Hi, everyone !!
After a bit of a dip in the number of new channels last week, compared to the significantly larger list of apps from the seven day period prior to that, I'm glad to say things appear to be "on the up" again as we've had YET ANOTHER MAMMOTH CROP OF NEW CHANNEL RELEASES to further boost the Roku Channel Store total. To wit, ONE HUNDRED & TWENTY-EIGHT NEW ROKU APPS have just been added to the already vast selection of over seven thousand nine hundred apps which populated the Roku UK Channel Store as of this time last week. That means we've now been blessed with more than three thousand seven hundred new apps, in a period of only thirty-seven weeks, any of which UK Roku owners could add to the selection of apps installed on their device(s). As if that wasn't enough... there were also several items of streaming-related news for me to report on this week but, unfortunately, I will (once more) need to postpone my summary of Roku (and other) news from the past seven days until I find time to catch-up with everything and add the "missing" details to this post - since, right now, I must focus on listing those one hundred and twenty-plus new Roku apps for you! :-)
Before I get into the current list of channels, however, I would just like to point-out that the ongoing issue of "missing" reviews from the 'Roku Guide' website appears to have worsened (yet again) since my previous article for this blog. Over the last thirty-seven weeks, my 'Weekly RoundUp' posts have seen a total of 3,739 new channels added. Meanwhile, the number of 'Roku Guide' reviews being published during that time has continued to fall short of the mark. Quite how they managed to only produce 17 reviews, with just four from the current week; ten more from last week, and; two that featured in my 'Weekly RoundUp #338' post from two weeks ago; along with a single US-only app, when there were upwards of 120+ new Roku channels released in the past seven days, is beyond me! Unfortunately, this cannot be seen as being an exception to the rule... because, digging through their archives, it soon becomes clear that this has been happening all too frequently. Looking at all of the articles they have published since the start of the year, there has been a total of only 986 new reviews added to their website. With a minimum of one hundred and twenty-four "missing" reviews from the last week they remain more than seventy percent short of where they should be and, if this continues, there could be hundreds (if not thousands) more Roku channels with no corresponding independent review for me to provide a link from each of the 'Weekly RoundUp' posts on my blog. I hope this shortfall is addressed soon because, as mentioned 33 weeks ago, the current situation isn't good for anyone connected to Roku: be they end-users, developers, bloggers like myself, or even Roku - whose platform provides the very source from which 'Roku Guide' compile their reviews! :-O
Still, back to the list... which, as always, will help you to identify the very latest apps that have been added to Roku devices in the UK. Other websites offering Roku channel listings will base their contents on the Roku USA Channel Store, which means they also include apps that are unavailable to UK Roku users. So, like I've said before... if you really want to know what's available channel-wise, for owners of Roku devices in the UK, you need to be reading this blog each and every week! ;-) :-)

PLEASE NOTE:- That this 'Driving The Force Within' channel should not be confused with an earlier app release - known by the (slightly) shorter name of 'Driving Force Within' - which featured previously on this blog as part of my 'Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #335' post just over one month ago. Were it not for the difference in their unique channel store identifiers I could easily have just written this off as an existing app, believing it was nothing more than an updated version of the 'Driving Force Within' channel, which had been re-submitted to the channel store among the other 'Just Added' Roku apps. Given how the developer of this (and other) recent app(s), each bearing the 'TV.AllSuper.Info' label, appears to favour the release of multiple apps with (almost) identical content - effectively "spamming" the channel store with their brand - I would not be surprised to see another "new" one next month with a (slightly) different name (perhaps with "The" at the front) making the title for a (potential) third version of this same app 'The Driving Force Within' - but I really hope they don't!

PLEASE NOTE:- That, while this new 'Halftime Movies' channel for Roku devices can be found within the 'Just Added' category (i.e. genre) of the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store, no permanent category / genre had (at the time of writing) been assigned to the channel in the UK. If I somehow succeed in bringing this matter to the attention of the developer / content provider, I'd expect to see this app given a permanent "home" under 'Film & TV' or 'Special Interest' in the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store within a few weeks of so-doing. In the meantime, if you don't wish to trawl through the 'Just Added' category of the channel store to find it, I suggest you take advantage of the built-in Roku 'Search' feature to locate and install it. Using this method, you probably won't even need to finish typing the word "Halftime" before seeing the channel listed among the 'Search Results' displayed on the right-hand side of your television screen. Failure to assign a permanent channel store category for the UK within the next week or two (however) would mean that, once it ceases to be part of the 'Just Added' category, it would no longer be listed in the channel store. So, if you think you're likely to want this channel, my advice would be to install it by the end of September (at the latest) because, if the necessary edits are not made to the Roku channel package (.PKG file) by that time, you will not see it there afterwards. Needless to say, if/when the channel is edited to include a permanent channel store category for the UK, I'll update this listing with details of whatever genre has been assigned to it. As mentioned above I'd expect this to be the 'Film & TV' or 'Special Interest' genre, but it could (possibly) wind-up in another category.

Were it not for the difference in their unique channel store identifiers I could (again) have easily written this off as an existing app, believing (as with 'Driving The Force Within', mentioned earlier in this post) that it was nothing more than an updated version of the 'Getting Things Done' channel, which had been re-submitted to the channel store among the other 'Just Added' Roku apps. Instead we see another example of multiple apps, each bearing the 'TV.AllSuper.Info' label, with similar content - further "spamming" the channel store - and I hope Roku put a stop to their shenanigans!
