Hi, everyone !!
With a 'Federal Holiday' falling on Thursday this past week in the United States - better known to all who celebrate it as the '4th of July' (or, 'Independence Day', as it's officially known) - you could be forgiven for thinking that there might have been a (slight) drop in the number of new Roku channels released during the last seven days. However, surprising though it may seem, I am pleased to report we've actually seen a small increase, in terms of new Roku apps, when compared to last week and delighted to say we've had ANOTHER DECENT CROP OF NEW CHANNELS to further boost the UK Channel Store total. To wit, no less than NINETY-ONE NEW ROKU APPS have been added to the already vast selection of over seven thousand three hundred apps which populated the channel store as of this time last week. That means we have now seen almost two thousand six hundred new apps made available, during a period of just twenty-seven weeks, any of which UK Roku owners can add to the individual selection of apps that are installed on their device(s). As if that wasn't enough... there were also several items of streaming-related news for me to report on but, as has been the case for the last few months I must (again) postpone my summary of Roku (and other) news from the past week until I can find time to catch up with everything and add the "missing" details to those posts - since, right now, I must (instead) focus on listing all these new Roku apps for you! :-)
Before I get into the current list of channels, however, I would just like to point-out that the ongoing issue of "missing" reviews from the 'Roku Guide' website appears to have worsened (yet again) since my previous article for this blog. Over the last twenty-seven weeks, my 'Weekly RoundUp' posts have seen a total of 2,564 new channels added. Meanwhile, the number of 'Roku Guide' reviews being published has continued to fall short of the mark during that time. Looking at all of the articles they have published since the start of the year, there has been a total of only 717 new reviews added to their website. With a minimum of around another eighty-seven "missing" reviews from the last week they remain more than seventy percent short of where they should be and, if this continues, there could be hundreds (if not thousands) more Roku channels with no corresponding independent review for me to provide a link from each of the relevant 'Weekly RoundUp' posts on my blog. I hope this shortfall is addressed soon because, as mentioned twenty-three weeks ago, the current situation isn't good for anyone connected to Roku: be they end-users, developers, bloggers like myself, or even Roku - whose platform provides the very source from which 'Roku Guide' generate their reviews! :-O
Still, back to the list... which, as always, will help you to identify the very latest apps that have been added to Roku devices in the UK. Other websites offering Roku channel listings will base their contents on the Roku USA Channel Store, which means they also include apps that are unavailable to UK Roku users. So, like I've said before... if you really want to know what's available channel-wise, for owners of Roku devices in the UK, you need to be reading this blog each and every week! ;-) :-)

For those who intend to subscribe over a 12-month period, the ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION OPTION is equivalent to a 20% SAVING over the course of a whole year, when paid in advance as a lump sum, versus the cost of paying month-to-month. However the fact that the description of this app from the Roku Channel Store states it "May require additional fees", combined with the fact you are requested to authorise this game to access your Roku account information when you first install it, is a reasonable indicator that (once your allocation of 2000 free tokens has run-out) there is a good chance you will need to part with your hard-earned cash to continue playing this game once any freebies are used-up! ;-) :-)

If I somehow succeed in bringing this matter to the attention of the developer / content provider, I'd expect to see this app given a permanent "home" under 'Film & TV' or 'Special Interest' in the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store within a few weeks of so-doing. In the meantime, if you don't wish to trawl through the 'Just Added' category of the channel store to find it, I suggest you take advantage of the built-in Roku 'Search' feature to locate and install it. Using this method, you probably won't even need to finish typing the word "Midnight" before seeing the channel listed among the 'Search Results' displayed on the right-hand side of your television screen. Failure to assign a permanent channel store category for the UK within the next two weeks (however) would mean that, once it ceases to be part of the 'Just Added' category, it would no longer be listed in the channel store. So, if you think you're likely to want this channel, my advice would be to install it by the middle of July (at the latest) because, if the necessary edits are not made to the Roku channel package (.PKG file) by that time, you will not see it there afterwards. Needless to say, if/when the channel is edited to include a permanent channel store category for the UK, I'll update this listing with details of whatever genre has been assigned to it. As mentioned above I'd expect this to be the 'Film & TV' or 'Special Interest' genre, but it could (possibly) wind-up in another category.

PLEASE NOTE:- That, although the title for this 'SD Real Estate Sold By Owner' channel includes the abbreviation 'SD' for the U.S. State of "South Dakota", the channel description (instead) mentions the U.S. State of "North Dakota"… perhaps copied from the 'ND Real Estate Sold By Owner' app released last week, which featured as part of my 'Roku UK Channel Store Weekly RoundUp #329' post, but certainly not what you would expect in reference to the 'SD' abbreviation. Of course, it may be that the name shown in the Roku Channel Store is wrong but, rather than correct it, I have decided to include the title "as is" until such a time as the developer sees fit to change it. However, I thought it best to point-out this peculiarity to make it clear this does not constitute any error on my part! ;-) :-)
