Roku UK Channel Store - Weekly RoundUp #17

Hi, everyone !!

I hope you all enjoyed the ADDED BONUS this week, of getting specific details for yet another fantastic ROKU PRIVATE CHANNEL that can be added to UK Roku players, as well as those of all currently supported regions around the world. I'm sure it will help to improve your overall experience of using Roku player, at least in some small way. Besides, it's probably just as well that I gave you all this little boost because there wouldn't have been much on offer in terms of NEW ADDITIONS to your Roku player channel selection otherwise. Maybe it was the 4th of July (Independence Day) celebrations, and the public holiday (in the USA) associated with it, which put a spanner in the works of any Roku channel development this past week? You probably know already (dare I say from personal experience) how easy it is to let your mind drift, whenever there's a holiday (public or otherwise) on the horizon. So, I guess we can't really hold the developers accountable for the relative shortage of new Roku channels being added to the channel store(s) during the last seven days ?!! At least the sun has been shining (well, for the most part, anyway) !!

Meanwhile, in addition to those new channels, we've also had some more new readers coming to the pages of this blog. Once again, there were many repeat visits from various countries that I've mentioned in previous posts but this time, as with the week before last, there was just one country that had not featured previously. So, before we go any further with the current 'Weekly RoundUp', I'd first like to extend a warm welcome to those new readers from Bulgaria, who each took the time to pay a maiden visit to these pages at some point during the past seven days, or so.

To those new readers, and to everyone else who continues to read my Roku-related ramblings here on this blog, I'd just like to say... "Thanks for stopping by" & long may you continue to do so.

Anyway, let's get on with the details for the current 'Weekly RoundUp' of NEW ADDITIONS to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. This time, there are THREE NEW CHANNELS which have been added during the past seven days. These latest additions to the Roku UK Channel Store provided FRESH CONTENT to the Games, International plus Religion & Spirituality genres (i.e. categories).

In keeping with previous installments from the 'Weekly RoundUp' series, details of these new channels have all been listed below, together with links to obtain further information {by clicking on the channel name(s) beneath the respective channel icon(s) as pictured} and to read a 'Roku Guide' review (where available) for each one:-

TIC TAC TOE........................................COST: £1.49 (ONE-OFF PAYMENT) [Roku Guide Review]

AFTV (AMAZING FACTS TV)...................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

AMERICA'S SURVIVAL...........................................................COST: FREE [Roku Guide Review]

*********************************************

Meanwhile, whether it's Tic-Tac-Toe (or, "noughts & crosses", as we call it here), religious inspiration and instruction, or even educational programming / call-in shows about potential threats to America's homeland security, we've pretty much got all of those bases covered with these NEW ADDITIONS to the "Official" Roku UK Channel Store. Unfortunately however, for the first time in six weeks, we haven't managed to exceed the number of channels added to the "Official" Roku USA Channel Store during the same time-frame (there were three, just like us, in case you were wondering). Unlike the past month and a half, where it's always been a bit of a close call, this time there was (literally) nothing in it. Still, no matter which side of the pond you are on, we can all count ourselves lucky to have been given SOME NEW CHOICES this week, rather than none at all, I'm sure you agree ?!!

Still, hopefully everyone in the UK with a Roku player managed to find something they like within the three channels outlined above. If not, then you'll have to pay us a visit another time when, with any luck, there will be something more to your liking. Afterall, there's no point installing every channel because, as I've said before, when it comes to adding new channels to your Roku player, IT'S YOUR CHOICE and, as with all things Roku... THE CHOICE IS ALWAYS YOURS !!

So, be sure to come back in seven days' time for my next 'Weekly RoundUp' and, if you can't wait that long, remember you can always keep up with the UK Roku action (as it happens) throughout the coming week, by following our Twitter Feed: @ukrokuchannels where up-to-the-minute info on all things Roku-related (here in the UK) is posted on a daily basis (well, almost).

Until the next time, then...

That's all folks !!

  1. Say RM... Chucko from Chucky talks to God here... Sorry to bother you man... But... Did it work? Did I update my coverage area correctly? I don’t think I have any way to tell from my side of the fence except simply asking someone...

  2. Hi, Chucko !!

I'd almost given up on you. Thanks for leaving a comment here.

Unfortunately, your channel is not in the Roku UK Channel Store at this time. As far as I'm aware, whenever you wish your channels to be made available in additional regions outside of the USA, you need to log into your developer account and submit a new version of the channel that adds the additional regions. I believe you may also have to send an email to whoever is your appointed contact at Roku and inform them that you have added more regions and submitted a new version of your channel which includes those regions. After that, there may be a slight further delay for Roku to push the update to the new channel stores but NOT THIS LONG OF A DELAY !!

If you are happy to make it known, could you message me back with the ACCESS CODE (sometimes called the VANITY CODE or INVITATION CODE) for your channel because that way, rather than wait for it to appear in the Roku UK Channel Store, I can simply add it as a Private Channel and give you an answer straight away as to it's availability in the UK.

I'm really looking forward to adding it to my Roku player, so hopefully we can get things sorted out sooner rather than later for you... FINGERS CROSSED !!

  3. Thanks... Wow I thought it had worked... I'll push up a new version Sunday... But... I don't have an appointed contact at Roku... I've never spoken with anyone there... Truth is... I'm amazed Roku even let me have a channel... The guy that built the wysiwyg editor I use may have more answers for me...
My Vanity Access Code is: thinkgod
Feel free to email me anytime at: CharleyBeans@gmail.com
I had no idea that you had even written me back...
